This really goes for most minivans, but I especially detest the shoddy workmanship of the Caravan. Fortunately I can only blame the drivers of these sad suburban transports a little bit for the way these things barrel down the road.

The first problem is the handling. If you've ever been behind someone who actually knows what she's doing with one of these things, you'll notice it is being driven at a crawl. That is because the wide turns this thing makes when not crawling put everyone within a mile of it in danger. And if the driver doesn't know what he's doing (this is usually brought on by SUV envy - mostly exhibited by male drivers), look out! You are being approached by an unwitting killing machine.

Having lived in LA for nearly 5 years, I have observed that people's driving personalities depend greatly on the vehicle they are driving. For instance, someone in a Cadillac Escalade has clearly made a selfish choice. That person will hog the lanes, no matter how wide the lanes are. He will be likely to cut you off because, hey, it's a Cadillac and he's entitled.

If it's a woman driving the Escalade, look out. The woman will more than likely be underweight and unable to realistically wield such a vehicle. She most likely will also have recently had "some work done" and may be on some painkillers to help her heal. She doesn't care about you at all.

What do I drive? A Toyota Echo. Yes, I'm cheap and I trust no one. I like a car I can see out of. And I let people pass.
