Oy, has it really been since June? i think I have some 'splainin' to do... Shortly after my last post, my delightful husband was notified that he was hired as a professor at NYU. So we now live back in New York. Brooklyn, to be precise. Needless to say, the tenor of my blog may have to change. The Quest still exisits, but New York is closer to where my inner fire smolders. We live now in Red Hook, or what real estate people are calling "Carroll Gardens West" or even "Columbia Waterfront District". Either way, our new neighborhood is a little rough around the edges, but pretty dope. Nothing like your Highland Park, or Downtown L.A. We currently rent a living loft (only slightly illegal) in a converted factory. I hope we can stay, but our landlord is a mobster and the managers are not accustomed to dealing with the type of tenant that pays this kind of money for this kind of space. I think they're learning though. I've seen some upgrades in the wardrobe, etc. The nicest thing is being close to the bulk of our family again. We will miss our closest friends and far flung siblings, but at least they have a place to crash. Here we are again, NYC. Let's make the best of it.
